This role is located in our outpatient office in Fairview, New Jersey, where you will collaborate with a dynamic team of healthcare professionals. You will work alongside physical therapy assistants and other specialists in an environment that fosters communication, teamwork, and a patient-centered approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct physical therapy treatments to prevent disability, relieve pain, and restore muscle function in accordance with personalized care plans.
• Oversee physical therapy assistants to ensure the effective implementation of treatment plans, empowering them to apply their skills effectively.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients' functional capabilities utilizing assessments involving muscles, nerves, joints, and daily activities.
• Assess and modify home environments to facilitate rehabilitation and enhance clients' independence.
• Provide prescribed physical therapy services in the outpatient setting, using manual therapeutic exercises and guiding clients in non-manual exercises.
• Administer adjunctive therapies such as traction, massage, and apply physical agents effectively.
• Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommend modifications to referring physicians.
• Participate actively in the development, review, and updates of care plans, ensuring they reflect the needs and progress of clients.
• Document clinical findings and create comprehensive records including evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team in case conferences to evaluate treatment plans and ensure a holistic approach to client care.
• Instruct clients and their families on the use and care of therapeutic devices and educate them on the overall physical therapy program.
• Complete additional assignments as requested to fulfill the objectives of the organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position focuses on a diverse patient population with a primary emphasis on orthopedic conditions. Clients may range from those recovering from surgery to individuals with chronic conditions impacting mobility and functionality. Qualifications

• Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure as a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) with the Physical Therapy Examining Committee.
• Demonstrated ability to think creatively and lead decisively in complex clinical situations.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and provide patient education.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of one year of experience as a physical therapist, preferably in an acute care or home care setting.
• Experience treating orthopedic patients and familiarity with rehabilitation technologies and modalities.

Compensation and Benefits

The Orthopedic Physical Therapist position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 100,000 to 120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
