Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct in-depth, culturally sensitive mental health assessments to identify clients' needs and develop personalized treatment plans.

• Implement evidence-based practices in therapy, tailoring interventions to accommodate the individual’s cultural background and personal experiences.

• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions that focus on addressing mental health issues, fostering resilience, and enhancing overall well-being.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and multidisciplinary team members to provide integrated care and address complex mental health conditions.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention services to clients experiencing acute mental health challenges.
\n
• Educate clients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and local resources available for additional support.
\n
• Maintain comprehensive and confidential client documentation as per legal and ethical standards, ensuring compliance with state licensing board requirements.

• Engage in regular case discussions, cultural competency training, and professional development activities to enhance client care.

• Stay updated on current mental health research and integrate relevant findings into practice.

The Midwest Counseling Center serves a diverse patient population, including various ethnic and cultural minorities, individuals from LGBTQ+ communities, and immigrant families. Our therapists are expected to have strong cultural competence that enables them to understand and appreciate the unique experiences and challenges faced by each client, thus ensuring that care is transparent, respectful, and tailored to individual needs.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas.

• In-depth understanding of various mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment methodologies, along with a commitment to cultural sensitivity.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering effective individual and group therapy within culturally responsive frameworks.
\n
• Strong skills in crisis intervention, with the ability to maintain composure and provide guidance in high-pressure situations.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with a proven ability to connect with a range of individuals from varied backgrounds.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working in an outpatient mental health setting, particularly with underserved populations.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and the administrative aspects of patient care.

• Proven track record of involvement in community outreach or mental health education initiatives.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
