Grady Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated and passionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our innovative team. This full-time, remote position focuses on providing specialized mental health care for children and adolescents, helping them navigate a variety of mental health challenges.

Work Environment\n

This role is primarily remote, allowing counselors to create a flexible work environment while still being an integral part of our child and adolescent psychiatry team. Collaboration is central to our practice, and our counselors work closely with a team of experienced child psychiatrists and mental health professionals in a supportive and interactive environment. Standard work hours are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to identify the unique needs of children and adolescents, ensuring all evaluations are thorough and empathetic.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that address developmental stages, family dynamics, and individual mental health concerns.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and family therapy sessions, aimed at treating issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions to empower parents and caregivers in fostering nurturing home environments.
\n
• Collaborate effectively with child psychiatrists and other health care professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
\n
• Deliver crisis intervention during mental health emergencies, providing timely and appropriate support to children and adolescents in distress.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about mental health issues, available treatment options, and resources within the community to promote awareness and proactive management.
\n
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
\n
• Participate actively in team meetings, case discussions, and professional development opportunities to continuously improve skills and service delivery.

• Stay current with research, best practices, and advancements in child and adolescent psychiatry to enhance therapeutic approaches.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The counselor will work primarily with children and adolescents facing mental health challenges. Typical clients may include those experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, and various behavioral disorders. Our practice is focused on understanding the complexities of each young individual's environment, including familial and social contexts, ensuring that care is both sensitive and effective.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.
\n
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of child and adolescent mental health disorders, along with familiarity with evidence-based treatment methods.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering individual and family therapy targeting young clients.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, characterized by a compassionate, child-centered approach.

• Ability to establish rapport and build trust with children, adolescents, and their families.
\n
• Technological proficiency, particularly with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard computer applications.
\n
• A capacity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment, promoting shared goals and strategies.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD 115,000 to 130,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. Additionally, a sign-on bonus is available.
