This position offers the flexibility of a fully remote work setting, enabling therapists to connect with clients directly in their homes via virtual platforms or in-person visits as needed. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in the home environment or group therapy sessions in our outpatient center, adapting techniques to best fit the diverse needs of each child.

• Utilize evidence-based practices to improve behavioral and emotional regulation, focusing on skill-building such as anger management, coping strategies, and social skills training.

• Support families in enhancing decision-making capabilities to manage home behavioral challenges, offering tailored interventions and resources.
\n
• Work collaboratively with the Child Family Treatment Team and other multidisciplinary professionals to ensure comprehensive care, providing feedback and recommendations as necessary.

• Accurately document client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes within specified timeframes to ensure compliance and continuity of care.

• Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss client progress, share insights, and refine treatment strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on children aged 3-20 who are affected by developmental and intellectual disabilities. This unique client population requires a therapist who is not only skilled in therapy techniques but also empathetic and adaptable to various emotional and behavioral challenges. You will engage with clients who may exhibit high-risk behaviors, and your interventions will be integral in facilitating their emotional growth and stability.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license is mandatory.

• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 pm), with weekend availability preferred.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for potential travel to client homes.
\n
• Eligible candidates must pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working with positive behavior support and crisis intervention strategies is highly regarded.

• Prior experience with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities will be advantageous.

• Being bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese is preferred, as it allows for enhanced communication with a diverse set of clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n
