Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to accurately evaluate patients’ histories and determine their specific needs.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic methods, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to provide effective interventions.

• Lead both individual and group therapy sessions, offering a supportive space for patients to process trauma experiences and learn coping strategies.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure comprehensive, integrated care for all patients.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.

• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses, effective coping mechanisms, and community resources available for support.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation that adheres to legal and ethical standards, contributing to seamless care continuity.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary clients you will serve are individuals recovering from trauma. This may include adults experiencing PTSD, survivors of abuse, and others dealing with symptoms associated with complex trauma or dissociative disorders. Your contributions will directly support their journeys toward healing, providing each client with the tools necessary to reclaim agency and restore well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience working in a mental health or therapeutic setting.

• In-depth knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment approaches.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering trauma-focused therapy and familiarity with resilience-building interventions.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, exemplifying a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to therapy.

• A calm demeanor and ability to handle high-stress situations competently.

• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant software applications.

Preferred Experience\n

While two years of experience is required, we preferentially seek candidates with added experience in trauma-focused therapies and those who have worked specifically with diverse populations. Compensation and Benefits\n
