Key Responsibilities\n

As a licensed mental health therapist at Kanza, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients’ trauma histories and needs.

• Designing and implementing individualized treatment plans that emphasize trauma recovery and resilience-building.
\n
• Utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, with a focus on modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions to assist patients in processing trauma and developing effective coping strategies.
\n
• Collaborating with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care and comprehensive support.
\n
• Providing immediate crisis intervention during trauma-related emergencies to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.
\n
• Educating clients and their families on trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available support resources.
\n
• Maintaining compliance with legal and ethical standards through detailed, accurate documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems.

• Engaging in regular case consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities focused on trauma-informed care practices.

• Staying current with the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to enhance treatment methods and patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The clients you will serve predominantly comprise individuals coping with the effects of trauma, including PTSD and complex trauma. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding these individuals toward healing, providing them with the tools to cope with and understand their experiences. You will be part of a compassionate team dedicated to creating a safe and supportive atmosphere where clients can openly share their experiences and work toward recovery.

Qualifications\n

To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.
\n
• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience working with trauma-related disorders.
\n
• Strong foundation in trauma-informed treatment modalities and resilience-focused approaches.
\n
• Excellent knowledge and practical experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions.
\n
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating compassion and a non-judgmental approach to therapy.

• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-stress situations.
\n
• Proficiency in using EHR systems and standard office applications.
\n
• Willingness to engage collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary care team.

Preferred Experience\n

While 2 years of experience is required, experience in specialized trauma-focused therapeutic approaches, running group therapy sessions, or prior work within a similar outpatient mental health setting will be viewed favorably. Familiarity with electronic health records systems and telehealth platforms is also highly beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits\n
