This full-time position allows for a remote work setting, where you will provide essential mental health support to individuals, couples, and families. As a counselor, your primary responsibility will involve conducting comprehensive mental health evaluations, crafting individualized treatment plans, and leading both individual and group therapy sessions, all aimed at promoting mental wellness and supporting client recovery.

As a member of our outpatient office, you will engage with clients mostly through virtual platforms, providing flexible access to counseling services. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments during initial client consultations to evaluate their mental, emotional, and behavioral health.
\n
• Develop personalized treatment plans by integrating client feedback, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and current best practices in psychotherapy.
\n
• Lead engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based methodologies to foster open communication and healing.
\n
• Monitor client progress throughout treatment, adjusting intervention strategies as necessary to optimize outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive care and manage referrals effectively.
\n
• Support family members in understanding and managing mental health challenges, facilitating family involvement in the therapeutic process.
\n
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies, ensuring continuity of care.

• Advocate for clients’ needs within the healthcare system and assist in overcoming barriers to treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your role will primarily focus on serving diverse populations, including individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use disorders. You will be instrumental in creating a safe and supportive therapeutic environment where clients feel empowered to share their experiences and work towards achieving their mental health goals.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
\n
• Valid and current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
\n
• Successful completion of the NCE and/or NCMHCE examinations.
\n
• Demonstrated proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, preferably AVATAR.
\n
• Strong understanding of physical and emotional health conditions, including addiction, to better inform treatment approaches.
\n
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to establish rapport with clients and their families.
\n
• Deep understanding of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and guidelines.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous counseling experience in an outpatient setting is highly desirable.

• A history of working with diverse client populations and familiarity with trauma-informed care principles.
\n
• Experience working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in a healthcare setting.

Compensation and Benefits\n
