Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for students with diverse special needs to identify their unique emotional and behavioral challenges.

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans that integrate therapeutic strategies with educational goals to promote student success.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and group therapy sessions tailored to address specific conditions such as ASD, ADHD, and emotional disturbances.

• Utilize various therapeutic modalities and methodologies to facilitate growth, emotional regulation, and coping skills among students.

• Collaborate closely with educators, speech therapists, and occupational therapists to ensure an integrated approach to care and education.

• Respond to mental health crises, offering immediate support and interventions during emergencies to stabilize and guide students.

• Deliver psychoeducation workshops and informational sessions for students and their families, fostering understanding and awareness of mental health issues.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

• Engage in continuous professional development through participation in team meetings, workshops, and case conferences.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is on students within the special education program who present with a range of mental health issues, including those with autism spectrum disorder, learning difficulties, emotional and behavioral disorders, and those needing trauma-informed care. Your expertise will be crucial in helping these students navigate the complexities of their educational experiences while addressing their mental health needs.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.

• Must hold a valid LCSW license in the state of New York to practice.

• Strong understanding of mental health disorders, evaluation methods, and evidence-based treatment approaches is essential.

• Proficiency in conducting mental health assessments and designing treatment plans based on individual student needs.

• Demonstrated ability to provide individual and group therapy in a therapeutic context.

Compensation and Benefits\n
