Key Responsibilities

The Full-Time Physical Therapist will be responsible for:

• Directing customized physical therapy interventions aimed at preventing disability, relieving pain, and enhancing muscle function based on individualized care plans.
• Supervising physical therapy assistants to ensure proper adherence to treatment protocols and best practices within the plan of care.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of patients' physical abilities and rehabilitation needs using diagnostic tests for muscles, joints, nerves, and functional movement.
• Assessing and recommending modifications to home environments to facilitate safe and effective rehabilitation.
• Implementing therapeutic exercises and activities tailored to patient capabilities, including manual therapies and use of physical agents such as ultrasound and cryotherapy.
• Adapting and fitting prosthetic and orthotic devices as necessary and collaborating with healthcare providers for optimal patient outcomes.
• Documenting clinical findings, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring comprehensive patient records that meet regulatory standards.
• Participating actively in case conferences and interdisciplinary team discussions to align treatment goals and evaluate patient progress.
• Educating patients and their families on therapeutic protocols and self-care techniques to promote sustained health improvements.
• Maintaining a professional presence that upholds the organization's standards in community and patient interactions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patient population served typically includes individuals recovering from surgery, managing chronic pain, or rehabilitating from injuries. Our clients have varying conditions, from post-operative orthopedic needs to neurological disorders requiring specialized rehabilitation. Therapists will employ evidence-based practices to adapt treatment plans according to individual functionality and recovery goals.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should possess the following:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A minimum of two years of experience as a physical therapist, preferably in an outpatient or home care setting.
• A valid and current Physical Therapy license in Virginia (in good standing).
• Current American Heart Association CPR certification.
• A valid driver's license and personal auto insurance for travel between patient sites, if necessary.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to engage positively with patients, families, and team members.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and quality patient care.

Preferred Experience
