Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual in-home therapy sessions or group therapy sessions that cater to the unique needs of each child and their family.
\n
• Implement therapeutic techniques such as anger management, coping strategies, and social skills training to mitigate high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behavior and physical aggression.
\n
• Support caregivers by enhancing their decision-making skills to effectively manage behavioral challenges at home.
\n
• Constructively collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team as well as other professionals to ensure holistic support for the child and family.
\n
• Accurately document all therapeutic interventions, submitting required paperwork (intakes, treatment plans, progress notes) in a timely manner.

• Participate in monthly team meetings, contributing insights and case recommendations that drive improved service delivery.
\n

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on children aged 3-20 with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges, providing therapeutic support tailored to their individual needs. This role not only addresses their mental and emotional well-being but also involves working closely with family members to fortify the support network at home. You will become an advocate for these children, promoting their growth and development in meaningful ways.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license is mandatory.

• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with weekend flexibility being desirable.

• Experience in providing positive behavior support is essential.
\n
• A valid driver’s license and a registered vehicle are necessary for this role.

• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is a pre-requisite.

Preferred Experience\n

• Proven experience working with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, with ages ranging from 3 to 20.

• Proficiency in bilingual therapy, specifically with Spanish or Portuguese-speaking families, is highly valued and will enhance service delivery.

Compensation and Benefits\n
