Work Environment\n

This role is designated as a remote position, empowering you to engage with clients via telehealth platforms. You will have the advantage of working from any location while leveraging technology to provide effective therapy sessions. Our flexible work hours, typically from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allow you to adapt your schedule according to patient needs. Some flexibility may be expected to accommodate urgent situations.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate each client’s trauma history and needs.

• Develop tailored treatment plans that focus on recovery, resilience-building, and overall mental health improvement.

• Implement a range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, providing clients with safe spaces to process their trauma and develop coping strategies.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive integrated care for all patients.

• Respond to crisis situations by providing immediate support and intervention.
\n
• Educate clients and their families on trauma responses and coping techniques, helping them navigate the healing process.

• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation of client progress and treatment plans in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Engage in continuous professional development and participate in case consultations and team meetings focused on the latest trauma-informed care practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Therapist at Aurora Mind Health Advocates, you will primarily work with individuals who have experienced significant trauma or are dealing with trauma-related mental health issues. This may include survivors of abuse, veterans, and individuals coping with societal or personal trauma. Your expertise will help guide them through their healing journeys and support them in rebuilding their lives.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of New Jersey.
\n
• 2 years of post-licensure experience and demonstrable skills in trauma-focused therapy.
\n
• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.
\n
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an empathetic and non-judgmental approach.
\n
• A calm demeanor in high-stress situations, ensuring patient safety and support.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficiency in using relevant technological tools.

• A collaborative mindset that thrives in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years post-licensure experience in mental health counseling is required, experience specifically relating to trauma therapy will be highly beneficial. Familiarity with telehealth practices and previous work in trauma-focused settings will give candidates a competitive edge.

Compensation and Benefits\n
