Work Environment\n

The role of Licensed Mental Health Therapist is structured within a predominantly remote framework, allowing for flexibility in your work schedule while primarily servicing patients from our outpatient facility. The standard working hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. However, some adjustment may be required to meet our patients' needs effectively. You will engage in a collaborative environment with fellow professionals who are dedicated to comprehensive mental health care.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments that explore patients' trauma backgrounds and guide treatment decisions.

• Formulate and implement individualized treatment plans that prioritize recovery from trauma and foster resilience in our patients.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to effectively assist patients.

• Provide individualized and group therapy sessions aimed at helping patients process their experiences, develop coping strategies, and promote healing.

• Closely collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and other health professionals to ensure that our patients receive integrated and comprehensive care.

• Respond effectively to crisis situations involving trauma-related emergencies, providing immediate support and intervention.

• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available support resources to enhance their understanding of mental health issues.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this position involves working with individuals grappling with trauma-related issues. Your clients may present with PTSD from various traumatic experiences, including but not limited to domestic violence, military combat, or other significant life events. You will be working closely with a diverse population, necessitating a sensitive and adaptive approach to meet their unique needs and circumstances.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Must possess current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, LMFT, or LP in New York State.

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant post-licensure experience preferred.

• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and modalities for trauma-informed treatment.

• Demonstrated ability to employ trauma-focused therapies and interventions.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on a compassionate and supportive approach to therapy.

Preferred Experience\n

While 2 years of experience is the baseline, candidates with additional experience in acute trauma settings or specialized training in trauma therapy modalities will be highly regarded. Familiarity with evidence-based practices and continuing education in trauma recovery is a plus.
