This role is structured as a remote position, allowing you the flexibility to provide care from your own environment while maintaining a strong connection to our outpatient office team. We utilize advanced electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, to maintain accurate client documentation and manage treatment plans efficiently.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough intake assessments to understand clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health.

• Document all pertinent information from the initial consultation through the duration of treatment, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Develop and implement individualized intervention and recovery plans based on each client's unique needs, which may involve couples, families, or group dynamic considerations.
\n
• Facilitate engaging therapy sessions that use evidence-based practices while addressing various mental health concerns.
\n
• Monitor and evaluate client progress throughout the treatment lifecycle, making necessary adjustments to care plans to optimize outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with other mental health professionals within our organization, as well as external healthcare providers, to create comprehensive care strategies.

• Follow up with clients who may require hospitalization, coordinating with psychiatrists and attending physicians for continuity of care.

• Identify potential barriers to recovery and support clients and their families in overcoming these challenges, providing guidance and education as necessary.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The ideal candidate will work primarily with a diverse clientele facing various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relational challenges. Our clients span different age groups and backgrounds, reflecting the rich diversity of the Rockford community. This role emphasizes a culturally competent approach, recognizing the individuality of each client's experiences and ensuring that treatment is respectful and relevant to their cultural context.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Valid licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the State of Illinois.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with clients and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective documentation and client interactions.
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience working as a mental health counselor in an outpatient setting.

• Knowledge of substance use disorders and underlying physical and emotional health conditions.

• Familiarity with American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices.

Compensation and Benefits\n

Joy of Hope Behavioral Health Center offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
