Key Responsibilities

• Implement and manage individualized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at alleviating pain and restoring function for a diverse patient population.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients' conditions using diagnostic tests and assessments to determine their physical capabilities and functional limitations.
• Direct and oversee a team of Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring the effective execution of treatment plans and maintaining high standards of patient care.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and education on activities of daily living while motivating clients to enhance their participation.
• Administer and adapt treatments including traction, massage, and application of physical agents to support recovery processes.
• Regularly assess and modify the rehabilitation environment to optimize client independence and address any barriers that may hinder progress.
• Maintain accurate clinical records, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment strategies.
• Engage actively in patient and family education on health and wellness while addressing any inquiries regarding physical therapy practices and treatments.
• Stay abreast of advancements in physical therapy techniques and evidence-based practices to enhance care quality and contribute to professional development.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution is required.
• Current licensure as a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) in the state of Virginia.
• A minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience in orthopedic physical therapy is essential to understand the complexities of patient care.
• Certification in CPR is mandatory to ensure patient safety during care.

Compensation and Benefits
