Work Environment\n

This position is remote, allowing for flexibility while maintaining a structured work schedule of Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. While the remote setting encourages a work-life balance, some flexibility in scheduling may be required to meet the varying needs of our patients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to understand patients' backgrounds, trauma histories, and treatment needs.

• Craft personalized treatment plans aimed at fostering recovery, resilience, and emotional well-being.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Facilitate individual therapy sessions and group therapy workshops to assist patients in processing their trauma and developing effective coping strategies.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other health professionals to integrate services and provide holistic care for patients.
\n
• Respond to crisis situations with immediate intervention and support for patients in distress.
\n
• Educate patients and family members on trauma responses, coping methods, and available support resources to encourage informed decision-making.

• Ensure all documentation adheres to legal and ethical standards, maintaining confidentiality and upholding patient trust.

• Engage in pro-active case consultations and participate in ongoing professional development sessions focused on trauma-informed care practices.

• Keep abreast of new research and therapeutic techniques in the field of trauma recovery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The counselor will work primarily with individuals who are survivors of trauma, including those experiencing PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Clients may come from diverse backgrounds, each presenting unique stories and needs. This role requires a deep understanding of trauma responses and the ability to create a therapeutic alliance that nurtures trust and safety.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as either an LCSW, LPC, Psychologist, or LMFT in the state of Texas.

• Strong foundation in trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment approaches.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a compassionate and non-judgmental therapeutic presence.

• Proficient in the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard computer applications for documentation and communication.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, candidates with demonstrated expertise in trauma-focused therapies and interventions, particularly EMDR and TF-CBT, will stand out. An ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team is essential, as is the capability to remain calm in high-pressure scenarios.
