Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility in Henrico, where you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team. Our facility is designed to create a welcoming atmosphere conducive to healing and rehabilitation. The team comprises experienced physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, and administrative personnel, all dedicated to providing the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Direct the development and implementation of individualized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, relieving pain, restoring, and enhancing muscle function, and maintaining maximum performance in accordance with each patient's unique needs.
• Oversee Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure the appropriate and effective execution of treatment protocols and adherence to the plan of care.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of clients' functional capabilities by utilizing diagnostic and prognostic assessments of muscle, nerve, joint, and functional abilities.
• Assess the home and clinic environments for rehabilitation, providing recommendations to increase client independence.
• Administer a range of physical therapy services as prescribed by physicians, including manual therapeutic exercises and functional activities to promote recovery.
• Implement and adjust treatment modalities, such as traction and massage, to optimize patient outcomes.
• Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices, making regulatory recommendations to physicians when necessary.
• Engage actively in the development, review, and ongoing refinement of treatment plans to reflect patient progress.
• Maintain thorough documentation, including clinical records, care plans, and progress notes, in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate as a vital member of an interdisciplinary team in case conferences, contributing insights that shape holistic treatment strategies for clients.
• Consult with patients and their families about the utilization and care of physical therapy devices and educate them on their overall therapy plans.
• Provide guidance and supervision to Physical Therapy Assistants during their delivery of care to ensure compliance and optimal patient outcomes.
• Complete necessary assessments and documentation on-site to revise care plans and maximize utilization of community resources.
• Remain accessible to support Physical Therapy Assistants during patient treatments, ensuring a cohesive therapeutic approach.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned in support of organizational objectives and patient care quality.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse patient population, focusing primarily on those recovering from orthopedic injuries or surgeries. This role emphasizes rehabilitation in a supportive environment to restore function and promote independence. You will interact with patients of varying ages and backgrounds, tailoring interventions to meet their specific needs and facilitate optimal recovery outcomes.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist from the Physical Therapy Examining Committee.
• A minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience, preferably within an orthopedic rehabilitation setting.
• Current CPR certification to ensure safety and emergency preparedness in patient care.

Preferred Experience

Experience in an outpatient orthopedic clinic or rehabilitation facility is preferred. Familiarity with advanced therapeutic modalities and techniques, as well as experience working within an interdisciplinary team, will be advantageous. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with patients and team members are essential qualities for success in this role.

Compensation and Benefits
