Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients to assess their physical condition and functional limitations related to orthopedic injuries.
• Design and implement tailored treatment plans that incorporate a variety of therapeutic techniques, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and patient education.
• Utilize advanced methods and techniques for treating musculoskeletal disorders, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Conduct regular reassessments to monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
• Document all patient interactions, treatment strategies, and outcomes accurately and timely in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and occupational therapists, to coordinate comprehensive care strategies.
• Educate patients and their families on best practices for rehabilitation and prevention of further injury.
• Maintain professional development by participating in workshops, seminars, and relevant continuing education opportunities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role specifically focuses on individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. You will work closely with a diverse demographic that ranges from athletes seeking to return to their sport to elderly patients recovering from hip or knee replacements. Each treatment plan will be uniquely developed to cater to individual needs, making effective communication and empathy crucial skills for success.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A valid state license in Physical Therapy to practice in Virginia.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and patient tracking.
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic clinical environment.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
