Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly patients, focusing on their emotional, cognitive, and physical needs.

• Develop tailored treatment plans that reflect each patient's unique challenges, ensuring strategies that are sensitive to age-related changes.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and family therapy, to address a variety of psychiatric conditions in older adults.

• Collaborate with geriatric psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team to provide integrated care for patients.

• Offer crisis intervention and mental health support during emergencies, ensuring patient safety and well-being.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, available treatment options, and community resources to facilitate their understanding and involvement in care.

• Maintain detailed and confidential documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress, adhering to legal and ethical standards.

• Actively participate in case consultations, team discussions, and ongoing professional development activities to stay current with best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The focus of this position is on the geriatric population, specifically addressing mental health issues that are prevalent among older adults. You will work closely with elderly patients who may be experiencing debilitating mental health conditions, providing compassionate care that enhances their quality of life.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Illinois is necessary for this role.

• Demonstrated knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders and a commitment to delivering age-appropriate therapy is essential.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with elderly patients and their families.

• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.

Preferred Experience\n

Compensation and Benefits\n
