Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Professional Counselor at Brightways Recovery Plus, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough patient intakes focusing on diagnostic and functional evaluations to tailor therapy objectives.
• Collaborating with primary care practitioners to identify and manage mental health and psychosocial challenges effectively.
• Providing timely interventions for emergency mental health needs, ensuring critical issues are addressed promptly.
• Conducting follow-up evaluations to monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to maximize efficacy.
• Collaborating with patients to develop relapse prevention strategies and supporting their adherence to treatment.
• Documenting patient progress and maintaining accurate records to facilitate continuity of care.
• Engaging in treatment planning meetings with primary care providers to ensure a cohesive approach to patient wellness.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role as an LPC will involve working with a diverse patient population, including individuals facing mental health challenges, those seeking supportive therapy, and patients with dual diagnoses. Understanding the unique needs of each patient is essential as you deliver tailored interventions that promote recovery and well-being. Moreover, you will assist in identifying patients at risk of deteriorating health conditions, enabling proactive measures to be put in place to support their mental health.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess the following:

• A Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling or a related field.
• A valid LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) license in the state of New Jersey.
• Comprehensive knowledge of mental health evaluation and treatment planning, including familiarity with DSM-IV diagnoses.
• Understanding of psychotherapeutic approaches, family therapy, group therapy, and developmental psychopathology.
• Excellent communication skills, with fluency in Spanish considered a strong asset.
• Adeptness at utilizing electronic health records (EHR) systems for proper documentation and patient tracking.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, preferred experience includes:

• Two or more years of experience working in a telehealth setting.
• Prior experience with interprofessional team collaboration.
• Familiarity with community resources and services related to mental health.
