Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough and culturally responsive mental health assessments to understand each patient’s unique experiences and needs, and develop personalized treatment plans accordingly.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, integrating cultural awareness and inclusivity into individual and group therapy sessions.

• Provide empowerment-focused individual, family, and group therapy sessions, utilizing techniques that promote resilience and emotional wellbeing.

• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and effective treatment strategies, participating in regular case consultations and team meetings.

• Offer crisis intervention support during mental health emergencies, ensuring immediate and effective responses to urgent patient needs.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, therapeutic options, and available community resources, facilitating informed decision-making about care.

• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in accordance with ethical guidelines and legal requirements.

• Engage actively in continuous training sessions to stay updated on current research, best practices, and cultural competence in therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your expertise will be pivotal in assisting clients from diverse backgrounds who may experience unique mental health challenges shaped by their cultural identities. You will address a wide range of mental health issues, helping patients navigate emotional distress with culturally aligned approaches and support systems tailored to their individual circumstances.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• A current and valid license as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State.
\n
• In-depth knowledge of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and a commitment to cultural competence in therapeutic practices.

• Proven experience in delivering individual and group therapy, particularly with culturally responsive techniques.
\n
• Exceptional crisis intervention skills and an ability to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively.
\n
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building rapport and trust with a diverse clientele.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard computer applications.

• A dedication to maintaining professional ethics, confidentiality, and collaborative teamwork.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years of relevant experience is required, candidates with additional years of practice in diverse settings or specialized training in culturally responsive therapies are highly encouraged to apply. Experience with crisis intervention and a strong understanding of community resources in Syracuse will be beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience. In addition, our benefits package includes:
