As a vital member of our team, you will conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations, design individualized treatment plans, and facilitate therapeutic sessions while promoting psychological well-being.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial mental health assessments and screen clients to document their conditions accurately from the first consultation through the treatment's conclusion.

• Evaluate and analyze clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health with appropriate diagnostic tools and methods.
\n
• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and group settings, ensuring they align with clients' goals and needs.
\n
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based techniques and therapeutic modalities that have proven effective.
\n
• Monitor clients' progress throughout their treatment journey, making necessary adjustments to their care plans based on ongoing assessments.
\n
• Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists, healthcare providers, and other mental health professionals to formulate comprehensive treatment strategies.

• Follow up with any clients who may have been hospitalized, coordinating post-discharge care and ensuring continuity of treatment.

• Identify potential barriers to recovery and proactively work with clients and their families to mitigate these challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role focuses on a diverse patient population dealing with various mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment disorders. Our counselors are skilled in addressing both individual and relational dynamics, providing treatment that respects and understands the cultural contexts of our clients. Family involvement and education is emphasized, ensuring that clients and their support systems are integral to the recovery process.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a mental health counselor working with diverse populations.

• Proficiency with various electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR, to ensure accurate documentation and billing.

• Strong understanding of co-occurring physical and mental health conditions as well as addiction disorders.
\n
• Familiarity with the best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and in-depth knowledge of psychotropic medications and their implications in therapy.

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, that enhance the therapeutic relationship.
