Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our Rehabilitation Center in Miami, a facility equipped with modern equipment and technology designed to support advanced therapeutic practices. Key Responsibilities

The Orthopedic Physical Therapist will be responsible for:

• Directing comprehensive physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, relieving pain, and restoring optimal muscle function.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of client functionality, employing diagnostic assessments related to muscle, nerve, joint, and overall functional abilities.
• Overseeing the implementation of treatment plans by physical therapy assistants, ensuring adherence to care protocols.
• Administering a range of therapeutic interventions, including manual exercises, traction, and modalities for pain relief.
• Making recommendations for home modifications to enhance client independence during rehabilitation.
• Drafting and maintaining comprehensive clinical records, including initial evaluations, care plans, progress documentation, and discharge summaries.
• Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to evaluate treatment effectiveness and adjust plans as necessary.
• Providing education and instruction to clients and their families on therapy devices and self-care techniques.
• Completing functional assessments and adjusting plans of care based on real-time client needs.
• Performing other assigned duties that contribute to the overarching goals of Prairie Lakes PT Services.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work primarily with orthopedic patients recovering from surgeries or injuries, including joint replacements, fractures, and sports-related injuries. Our focus is on tailoring interventions to meet individual client capabilities, ensuring their rehabilitation journey is rooted in empowerment and informed care. We aim to maximize each client's quality of life by fostering their autonomy and functional independence.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A current and valid Physical Therapy license in good standing in the state of Florida.
• Current CPR certification.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance for home visits when required.
• Strong commitment to clinical excellence and integrity in patient care.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with an emphasis on patient and family engagement.
• A positive attitude and a collaborative, team-friendly approach to patient care.

Preferred Experience

Ideal candidates will have a minimum of one year of experience as a physical therapist, preferably in acute care and home care settings. Experience working with orthopedic patient populations is especially beneficial.
