Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans targeting orthopedic conditions, with a focus on alleviating pain, enhancing flexibility, and optimizing overall muscle function.
• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients' functional levels using evidence-based diagnostic tools, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their orthopedic needs.
• Supervise physical therapy assistants in executing care plans and ensure adherence to prescribed protocols to deliver effective patient care.
• Provide specialized therapeutic interventions, including manual therapy, exercise prescription, and the use of advanced modalities like ultrasound and electrical stimulation.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to adjust treatment protocols based on patient progress and feedback.
• Educate patients and their families on orthopedic conditions, rehabilitation practices, and the proper use of assistive devices, promoting self-management and independence.
• Maintain detailed clinical documentation including evaluations, treatment records, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Participate in case conferences, contributing to interdisciplinary discussions that enhance patient care and outcomes.
• Mentor and support Physical Therapy Assistants, fostering a collaborative environment focused on clinical excellence.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily focus on patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries or injuries, such as hip and knee replacements, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Your work will directly impact their recovery process, meaning you will have the opportunity to witness and contribute to their progress and increased independence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree.
• Current physical therapy licensure in the state of Virginia.
• At least one year of professional experience in a physical therapy setting, preferably focusing on orthopedic rehabilitation.
• Valid CPR certification, ensuring safety and preparedness in emergent situations.
• Proficient in understanding and navigating federal and state healthcare regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in an acute care or home health setting, which enhances your knowledge of diverse patient needs.
• Experience in implementing innovative treatment modalities and patient engagement strategies.
• Effective team player skills, showcasing a positive attitude and collaborative mindset.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary in the range of USD 90,000 – 110,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
