Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations by reviewing patient histories and performing assessments to determine appropriate diagnoses and treatment protocols.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings, incorporating patient and family feedback to ensure goals are aligned with their needs and expectations.
• Implement and adapt treatment protocols considering the patient's progression and evolving healthcare landscape, working with therapeutic modalities such as therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and modalities for pain management.
• Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans, documenting these changes clearly to ensure continuity of care.
• Engage collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, consulting with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and safety.
• Participate in discharge planning and follow-up care, ensuring that patients have the resources and education needed to maintain their progress after therapy.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation, including initial evaluations, treatment notes, and discharge summaries, all completed in a timely manner.
• Promote and participate in community marketing initiatives to enhance public awareness of our services and foster relationships within the community.
• Take the initiative in pursuing continuing education for professional growth, including serving as a clinical instructor to students, fostering new talent in the field.
• Ensure compliance with governmental and accreditation regulations, maintaining high standards in patient care and departmental goals.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on outpatient orthopedic patients recovering from various musculoskeletal injuries, surgical procedures, or chronic pain conditions. Our patient population is diverse, ranging from athletes seeking rehabilitation after sports injuries to older adults recovering from joint replacements. You will have the chance to make a meaningful impact on their recovery journeys, designing programs that aid in restoring mobility, strength, and function with a patient-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy is required; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is preferred.
• Current state license to practice as a Physical Therapist in Florida is mandatory.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required.
• Demonstrable understanding of orthopedic rehabilitation principles and practices.

Preferred Experience

• Prior work experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting, while beneficial, is not mandatory.
• A background in sports therapy or advanced manual therapy techniques would be advantageous.
