Key Responsibilities\n

As a Mental Health Counselor, your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Conducting comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to evaluate clients' trauma histories and identify suitable treatment modalities.

• Designing and implementing personalized treatment plans that emphasize recovery and resilience-building tailored to individual client needs.

• Delivering therapeutic interventions utilizing best practices, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions to assist clients in processing trauma, developing effective coping strategies, and nurturing their healing processes.

• Collaborating with psychiatrists and other health professionals to coordinate patient care, ensuring an integrated approach that addresses all aspects of a client’s wellbeing.

• Providing crisis intervention and support during critical trauma-related emergencies, ensuring that clients receive timely care and assistance.

• Educating clients and their families regarding trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available community resources for continued support.

• Maintaining meticulous and confidential documentation in accordance with legal requirements and ethical guidelines.

• Participating actively in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development related to trauma-informed care practices.

• Staying informed of the latest research developments and treatment modalities within trauma therapy to continually enhance service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our primary focus is on individuals with trauma backgrounds, which may include survivors of abuse, neglect, domestic violence, and other distressing life experiences. Our goal is to provide them with a safe space to heal, rebuild trust, and develop coping skills necessary to navigate their trauma’s impact on their lives.

Qualifications\n

To qualify for this role, candidates should possess:

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid state licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in Oregon.
\n
• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience.
\n
• Extensive knowledge of trauma-related disorders and effective trauma-informed treatment strategies.
\n
• Experience delivering trauma-focused therapeutic interventions and facilitating individual and group therapy.
\n
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a compassionate and supportive approach to client care.

• A calm demeanor in high-stress situations, with the ability to think critically and act swiftly when necessary.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiarity with various computer applications.

• A collaborative mindset, ready to work alongside a multidisciplinary team of professionals.

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, candidates with additional experience in trauma therapies or who have worked closely with PTSD and complex trauma patients will find their backgrounds particularly beneficial in this role.

Compensation and Benefits\n
