Work Environment\n

This position offers the flexibility of remote work while providing the necessary support to patients in an outpatient office setting in Brookhaven, New York. Your work hours will typically be Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, with some flexibility required to meet the diverse needs of our clients and accommodate their schedules.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate the trauma history of patients, ensuring a tailored approach to treatment.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, resilience, and long-term mental wellness.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing.

• Lead both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping patients process their trauma, strengthen coping strategies, and foster emotional growth.

• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team to provide well-rounded and integrated care approaches for patients.

• Respond to crisis situations involving trauma-related emergencies, providing immediate support and intervention.

• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses and effective coping mechanisms while sharing available resources.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in adherence to legal and ethical standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with a diverse population of individuals who have experienced trauma, including veterans, survivors of abuse, and those dealing with complex trauma-related issues. Your role will necessitate an understanding of various trauma responses, cultural considerations, and the ability to provide personalized care that respects each patient’s unique journey.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.

• Demonstrated proficiency and experience in trauma-focused therapies, and an in-depth understanding of trauma-related disorders.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, characterized by a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to therapy.

• Strong ability to remain composed under pressure, ensuring effective responses in high-stress situations.

Preferred Experience\n

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $110,000 annually, reflecting the experience and expertise of the chosen candidate.
