MindWell Psychiatric Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Oyster Bay, New York. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments to diagnose various mental health disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient.
• Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, regularly assessing their effectiveness and adjusting treatment as necessary.
• Provide psychotherapy and counseling utilizing techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
• Collaborate with colleagues to provide holistic, multidisciplinary care and ensure continuity of treatment.
• Educate patients and their families on mental health issues, treatment options, and effective self-care strategies.
• Document patient progress meticulously, tracking medication efficacy and therapy outcomes.
• Conduct regular follow-up appointments to evaluate treatment impact and modify plans as needed.
• Participate in clinical meetings and supervision sessions to enhance professional skills and share insights.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, with a current Nurse Practitioner license in New York.

• Proficiency in therapeutic techniques, including CBT, DBT, and family therapy approaches.
• Previous experience in an outpatient mental health setting is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
