Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and provide physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disabilities, relieving pain, and promoting muscle function restoration through thorough evaluations and evidence-based practice.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) to ensure the appropriate implementation of care plans, providing mentorship and clinical guidance as necessary.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of clients' functional abilities by employing diagnostic tests and assessments of muscle, nerve, and joint function.
• Assess and recommend modifications to clients' home environments to foster greater independence and enhance rehabilitation progress.
• Administer manual therapeutic exercises, teach clients how to perform exercises and activities, and motivate them to achieve their rehabilitation goals.
• Implement various physical agents, including traction and massage, to facilitate effective therapy and expedite recovery.
• Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices in collaboration with physicians to ensure clients' mobility needs are met.
• Prepare detailed clinical records, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring documentation complies with industry standards like OASIS.
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings, sharing insights and updates to optimize the collective care of clients.
• Educate clients and their families on the use and care of physical therapy devices, while fostering clear communication and a supportive therapeutic relationship.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population encompasses a variety of individuals seeking rehabilitation due to musculoskeletal conditions, post-surgical recovery, and functional impairments. You will work closely with clients of all ages who require orthopedic rehabilitation, wherein you will be instrumental in guiding their recovery journeys by tailoring interventions specific to their unique circumstances and functional goals.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current PT licensure in New Jersey, with a clean record in good standing.
• Current CPR certification, demonstrating an ongoing commitment to patient safety and care.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, with an ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
• Creativity and leadership in composing individualized treatment approaches that reflect the diverse needs of clients.

Preferred Experience

• At least one year of experience in a physical therapy setting, preferably within acute or home care environments.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and various documentation tools that streamline care and enhance patient outcomes.
• Experience with rehabilitation methodologies and practices that promote evidence-based treatment.
