Position Overview

Meridian Health Behavioral Services is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our innovative team. This full-time position offers the unique opportunity to work remotely while providing essential therapeutic services to individuals and families navigating mental health challenges. The LCSW will play a pivotal role within our Detox Center, focusing on delivering the highest quality of care to clients facing various behavioral health issues.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility while ensuring that our social workers can concentrate on their clients without the stress of commuting. Operate from the comfort of your own home during regular business hours, with a schedule from 9 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. This role does not require evening or weekend work, allowing for work-life balance and personal time.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of mental health needs and develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each client.
• Coordinate and implement behavioral health services effectively, ensuring each patient's unique challenges are appropriately addressed.
• Work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary primary care team, engaging with healthcare providers and administrative staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures related to mental health practices, safeguarding the integrity of our behavioral health program.
• Conduct timely intake evaluations for new clients, ensuring a respectful and informative experience that allows patients to feel safe and understood.
• Provide crisis intervention and counseling to clients as needed, utilizing sound judgment to navigate complex situations.
• Refer clients with significant mental health conditions to appropriate facilities for inpatient care when necessary, ensuring a continuum of care.
• Screen and support patients dealing with prescription and substance abuse, offering counseling or referencing additional resources as required.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The LCSW will primarily support clients within our Detox Center who are experiencing acute mental health issues intertwined with substance use disorders. You will connect with a diverse client base, which may include individuals from varying cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Your expertise and empathy will be crucial in helping these clients navigate their recovery journeys, emphasizing a client-centered approach that respects their unique needs and circumstances.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is essential.
• Current LCSW licensure in New Jersey is required to practice.
• Demonstrated clinical skills with a solid foundation in therapeutic modalities.
• Proven maturity in judgment and capabilities in crisis intervention.
• Strong communication skills, capable of presenting information effectively in both written and oral formats.
• Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a healthcare team.
• Proficiency in electronic health record systems and a commitment to maintaining accurate patient documentation.
• Experience working with culturally diverse populations is highly beneficial.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of post-graduate clinical experience in behavioral health or social work.
• Experience in a detox or addiction treatment setting is highly desirable.
