Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of critical tasks, including:

• Conducting thorough preliminary interviews and assessments, which include gathering detailed client histories and understanding their unique mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs.

• Evaluating clients’ psychological well-being and formulating individualized treatment plans that outline actionable goals and appropriate therapeutic interventions.

• Facilitating engaging individual and group therapy sessions, where you will employ evidence-based practices tailored to meet the diverse needs of various clients.

• Monitoring clients’ progress meticulously, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans to enhance effectiveness.

• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and social workers, to create comprehensive intervention plans that address co-occurring mental and physical health challenges.

• Following up with healthcare professionals involved in a client’s care, especially during hospital admissions, ensuring continuity in support and intervention.

• Providing guidance and support to clients’ family members and caregivers, helping them understand mental health dynamics and effective coping strategies.

• Managing referrals and contributing to community outreach efforts, thereby strengthening the overall support network for your clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The ideal candidate will be equipped to work with a diverse clientele, including adults and adolescents facing a spectrum of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, and trauma-related conditions. Your role will not only focus on individual recovery but also on providing support for families navigating mental health challenges. This holistic approach ensures every client receives personalized care that fosters long-term resilience and well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Possession of valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC/MHSP, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Tennessee.
\n
• A successful score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Proven experience as a mental health counselor with a minimum of two years in a clinical setting.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR or similar platforms, to manage and document client information effectively.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working with clients with dual diagnoses, including underlying physical health conditions and addiction disorders.

• A deep understanding of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and guidelines.

• Strong knowledge of the effects of psychotropic medications as prescribed by specialists.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interactions with clients, families, and colleagues.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, characterized by empathy and a caring nature, crucial for building therapeutic relationships.

Compensation and Benefits\n
