Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive client assessments to determine the severity and impact of mood disorder symptoms, utilizing standardized tools and interview techniques.
• Collaborate with clients to create individualized treatment plans tailored to their unique needs, preferences, and therapeutic goals.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to support clients in managing their symptoms effectively.
• Educate clients and their families on the nature of mood disorders, evidence-based treatment options, and self-care strategies, fostering an environment of understanding and support.
• Monitor client progress through regular evaluations and feedback, adjusting treatment approaches as necessary to maximize outcomes.
• Work closely with psychiatrists and other interdisciplinary team members to provide integrated care that addresses both therapeutic and medical needs.
• Stay informed on the latest research and best practices in the treatment of mood disorders, incorporating this knowledge into therapy sessions.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines.
• Engage in case consultations and participate in professional development activities to enhance your clinical skills in treating mood disorders.
• Advocate for clients, working to reduce the stigma associated with mental health issues and promote awareness within the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse clientele, including individuals struggling with depressive and anxiety disorders. You will be responsible for providing tailored therapeutic support that acknowledges not only clinical symptoms but also the social, cultural, and economic factors impacting each client’s mental health journey.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid license as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.
• Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities, particularly CBT and DBT, for addressing mood disorders.
• A strong understanding of psychopharmacology and the ability to work collaboratively with psychiatric professionals to ensure comprehensive client care.
• Proven experience achieving positive client outcomes in the treatment of mood disorders.
• Exceptional communication skills, with an ability to build rapport and trust with clients from various backgrounds.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of three years of direct clinical experience working with clients diagnosed with mood disorders.
• Experience in a community health setting or outpatient practice is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote therapy practices is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $100,000 annually.
