Position Overview

The Blackwood Physical Therapy and Wellness Center in Elizabeth, New Jersey, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Orthopedic Physical Therapist. Work Environment

This is an onsite position, fostering direct patient interaction and collaboration with a supportive team that includes two physical therapists and one physical therapy assistant (PTA). Our work schedule runs from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a structured yet dynamic work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify patient needs and goals in a healthcare environment.
• Manage a manageable caseload, providing effective therapy to one patient per hour.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate a variety of therapeutic modalities.
• Administer cost-effective therapies aimed at improving patient mobility and overall function.
• Employ alternative treatment strategies to decrease reliance on medications and invasive surgical procedures.
• Utilize techniques such as manual therapy and exercise prescription tailored to individual patient needs.
• Motivate patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, fostering a positive and collaborative atmosphere.
• Document patient care and progress thoroughly, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and protocols.
• Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Educate patients on wellness strategies to promote healthier lifestyles, including strength, flexibility, and balance training.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on orthopedic outpatient therapy, serving a diverse patient population recovering from various musculoskeletal conditions, surgeries, and injuries. The center is dedicated to understanding each patient's unique circumstances, allowing for tailored care plans that align with their individual recovery goals.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• A valid New Jersey State Physical Therapist license, demonstrating a clean professional record.
• Strong proficiency in establishing exercise regimens and applying manual therapy techniques.
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, particularly WebPT.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective patient and team interactions.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of experience in an orthopedic outpatient setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with contemporary treatment methodologies and best practices in physical therapist care.
• Evidence of continuing education or specialized training in orthopedics or sports medicine.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this role ranges from USD 100,000 to 120,000 annually, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and opportunities for continued professional development.
