Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient evaluations, leveraging clinical assessments to determine treatment needs and establish individualized care plans.
• Communicate evaluation results and treatment plans effectively to both patients and their families, ensuring collaborative participation in goal-setting.
• Implement evidence-based treatment protocols that reflect the latest advancements in orthopedic rehabilitation, adapting strategies to meet each patient's unique needs.
• Engage in ongoing consultation with healthcare professionals from other disciplines to provide comprehensive care and monitor patient progress efficiently.
• Handle discharge planning and aftercare, meticulously documenting patient interactions, including evaluations, progress notes, interim updates, and discharge summaries.
• Manage your schedule effectively to meet productivity expectations while contributing actively to team-initiated marketing and community outreach programs.
• Support departmental goals through participation in quality improvement initiatives and adherence to accreditation standards.
• Take initiative in pursuing continuing education opportunities that foster both personal competency and organizational growth.
• Enhance patient experience and access to care through flexibility and responsiveness to changing circumstances.
• Participate in proactive strategies to remove barriers to care access, engaging with departmental access initiatives and utilizing performance metrics to improve service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with orthopedic patients who may be recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions affecting their mobility and function. The diverse caseload includes individuals of all ages, presenting a broad spectrum of orthopedic challenges. Your expertise will be crucial in developing tailored interventions that promote healing, restore movement, and enhance quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution is required.
• Current licensure as a Doctor of Physical Therapist (DPT) in New Jersey.
• Minimum of two years of experience in an orthopedic setting preferred.
• Possession of a current CPR certificate.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems for efficient documentation and patient management.
• Experience in mentoring or teaching students in a clinical setting is a plus.
