Work Environment\n

This position is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility in your work schedule while still maintaining a crucial connection with your team and clients. The work schedule is set from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts required to accommodate patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments that take into account the unique challenges faced by older adults, such as cognitive decline and comorbid conditions.

• Develop tailored treatment plans that consider patients' physical health, social environments, and individual preferences.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and family therapy, that target geriatric-specific mental health issues.

• Work closely with a team of geriatric psychiatrists and other specialists to provide integrated care, ensuring that all aspects of a patient's health are addressed.

• Provide crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, ensuring timely and appropriate response to urgent patient needs.

• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment protocols, and local community resources to empower informed decision-making.

• Maintain meticulous and secure documentation of patient care in compliance with ethical and legal standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems.

• Actively participate in case consultations, team meetings, and continuing education activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

• Stay current with the latest research, treatment advancements, and best practices in geriatric psychiatry.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position focuses on the geriatric population, which includes older adults who experience a range of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, dementia-related disorders, and adjustment disorders. Qualifications\n

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Psychologist in the state of California.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health therapy, particularly with older adults.

• Proficient understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate empathetically with elderly patients and their families.

• Competence in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant technology.
