Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in the homes of clients or provide group therapy at our outpatient center, developing personalized therapeutic strategies to support the mental health needs of our clients.

• Utilize evidence-based techniques to provide anger management and coping strategies while focusing on the enhancement of social skills, aiming to mitigate high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behavior or physical aggression.
\n
• Work collaboratively with caregivers and families, guiding them in developing effective decision-making skills to manage behavioral challenges at home.
\n
• Engage consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team and other multidisciplinary professionals, sharing insights and strategies to ensure comprehensive support for the youth and their families.
\n
• Meet documentation requirements promptly, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring all compliance standards are met.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings, offering insights and recommendations to improve service delivery and outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this position is working with children aged 3-20 years who present with a range of developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Our clients come from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, necessitating a therapist who can effectively engage with families in their preferred language—Spanish or Portuguese. The therapeutic interventions you provide will not only address mental health needs but also focus on their overall developmental progress and family dynamics.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a closely related field is required.
\n
• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license in the state of Florida is mandatory.

• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 pm), with some weekend availability preferred.

• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are essential for this role.
\n
• Pass a thorough criminal background check, including fingerprinting, to ensure the safety of our vulnerable client population.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in providing positive behavior support strategies and interventions.

• Demonstrated experience working effectively with children and adolescents with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

• Familiarity with therapeutic methodologies tailored for diverse populations and family systems.

Compensation and Benefits\n
