This position offers a competitive salary of $80,000 to $100,000 annually, along with a sign-on bonus to support your transition into our team.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through preliminary interviews, documenting client cases meticulously from the initial visit to the conclusion of treatment.

• Assess clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health to develop personalized intervention and recovery plans that cater to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, using evidence-based therapeutic techniques to enhance client progress and engagement.
\n
• Regularly monitor client progress throughout the treatment process and adjust intervention plans as necessary, collaborating closely with other mental health professionals.
\n
• Follow up with psychiatrists and primary care physicians regarding clients who may be admitted to the hospital, ensuring continuity of care and communication.
\n
• Identify and address behaviors that may impede recovery, providing clients and their families with the tools and strategies necessary for success.

• Assist family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges, fostering a supportive network around each client.

As a mental health counselor at Avella, you will engage with a population that includes individuals of all ages, from children to seniors, and you will address a broad spectrum of emotional needs. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document cases clearly and thoughtfully.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal abilities, allowing you to connect meaningfully with clients and foster trust and rapport.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience in mental health counseling within an outpatient setting.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as AVATAR.

• Experience working with clients dealing with various emotional and behavioral health challenges, including addiction disorders.

• Familiarity with best practices from the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• In-depth knowledge about the effects of medications prescribed by medical specialists on mental health and behavior.
