This role is primarily remote, offering flexibility and the ability to connect with clients virtually while also providing in-office support as needed. In this setting, you will have access to a range of resources and tools, including electronic health record systems like AVATAR, which streamline case documentation and facilitate interdisciplinary communication.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial mental health evaluations through preliminary interviews, documenting key insights from both client consultations and ongoing assessments.

• Develop, implement, and monitor evidence-based treatment plans that address the unique mental, behavioral, and emotional needs of clients.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions to enhance therapeutic interventions and promote peer support among clients.
\n
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in developing and modifying intervention plans, ensuring comprehensive care for each client.
\n
• Engage in continuous assessment of client progress, providing feedback and necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
\n
• Provide education and support to family members and primary caregivers on managing clients' mental health conditions.
\n
• Address and prevent behaviors that may interfere with recovery, incorporating strategies for conflict resolution and behavioral modification.

• Follow up with psychiatrists and medical staff regarding any hospital admissions to ensure continuity of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with a diverse array of clients, including individuals, couples, families, and groups facing various mental health challenges. Qualifications\n

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.

• Successful completion of assessment standards, including passing the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems like AVATAR for effective case management.
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey complex concepts to clients and colleagues alike.

• Strong interpersonal and empathetic skills necessary to build trust with clients and their families.

Preferred Experience\n

• Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor, preferably within an outpatient or community-based setting.

• Knowledge of various therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed care practices.

• Understanding of co-occurring physical, emotional, and addiction-related disorders, fostering a well-rounded perspective in treatment.

• Familiarity with American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) standards and ethics.
\n
• In-depth knowledge of pharmacotherapy and how prescribed medications affect mental health treatment.
