Key Responsibilities\n

• Provide individual and family therapy, utilizing evidence-based practices to effectively address a variety of emotional and behavioral health issues.

• Conduct thorough assessments to identify patients' needs, developing personalized treatment plans that guide therapy sessions and ensure best practices are followed.

• Document all clinical encounters and maintain precise records, adhering to clinic policies regarding confidentiality and legal documentation.

• Engage in crisis intervention strategies when necessary, providing immediate support and establishing safety plans for at-risk clients.

• Collaboration with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and social workers, in the development and implementation of comprehensive discharge plans.

• Represent the organization at community networking events, strengthening relationships with local resource groups and advocating for patient needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will be working primarily with adults, children, and families who face a wide range of mental health challenges, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. Our clinic serves a diverse clientele, reflecting the rich cultural tapestry of San Mateo, California, and offers the opportunity to engage in meaningful therapeutic work that directly impacts individuals and families in need.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy is required, with a focus on behavioral health practices.

• Possession of an active California license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

• At least three years of clinical experience in a therapy role, ideally within an outpatient or community health setting.

• Demonstrated ability in crisis counseling and effectively managing therapy with both individual and group dynamics.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with excellent organizational and analytical capabilities.

• Proficiency in adapting to established protocols while making sound, timely clinical decisions.

Preferred Experience\n

Compensation and Benefits\n
