Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients to determine their functional capabilities and challenges.
• Create individualized treatment plans that consider each patient's specific needs, preferences, and rehabilitation goals.
• Utilize evidence-based interventions and a variety of manual therapy techniques to improve patient mobility and reduce pain.
• Develop and lead tailored exercise programs focused on enhancing strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
• Employ cost-effective treatment strategies that encourage non-surgical approaches, fostering greater adherence to wellness plans.
• Motivate patients throughout their rehabilitation journeys by providing emotional support and continuous encouragement.
• Monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary, and documenting all interventions accurately in line with EMR protocols.
• Collaborate and communicate with other healthcare providers to ensure a unified, comprehensive care plan for each patient.
• Educate patients and their families about injury prevention and promoting a long-term commitment to physical fitness.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training to maintain current knowledge of physical therapy practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position focuses primarily on outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation. You will work with a diverse patient population including athletes recovering from sports injuries, individuals undergoing post-operative rehabilitation, and patients managing chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Your expertise will make a significant impact on their recovery process, ultimately enhancing their quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• An active Physical Therapist license in New York with no sanctions or board issues.
• Proven experience in outpatient orthopedic settings, demonstrating proficiency in a range of manual therapy techniques.
• Strong ability to create and implement effective exercise programs, catering to the unique needs of each patient.
• Familiarity with EMR systems, with proficiency in Web PT preferred for effective documentation management.
• Up-to-date knowledge of contemporary research and methods in physical therapy.

Preferred Experience

• 3+ years of clinical experience in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy.
• Experience working with a multidisciplinary team in a rehabilitation setting.
• Demonstrated success in patient development and education.

Compensation and Benefits
