Key Responsibilities

As the Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough evaluations of clients' functional levels using diagnostic tests to assess muscle, nerve, joint, and functional capabilities.
• Supervising and mentoring physical therapy assistants, ensuring adherence to precise care plan implementation.
• Assessing patients' home environments to recommend adaptations that enhance independence during rehabilitation.
• Providing high-caliber physical therapy services in alignment with physician orders, utilizing evidence-based practices.
• Facilitating therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and advanced treatment modalities such as traction and massage.
• Evaluating, fitting, and adjusting prosthetic and orthotic devices, collaborating on any necessary modifications with physicians.
• Documenting client progress meticulously, including initial evaluations, care plans, and discharge summaries, to ensure compliance with OASIS standards.
• Engaging in interdisciplinary team case conferences to contribute to comprehensive treatment planning and client evaluations.
• Advising families and caregivers on therapy techniques and device usage to ensure a supportive home environment for recovery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, or other musculoskeletal conditions, tailoring treatment plans to meet individual needs. Qualifications

• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree.

• Active and valid physical therapist licensure in California.
• Current CPR certification.
