Key Responsibilities\n

• Perform thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to understand patients' histories and develop tailored treatment plans.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to address varied trauma responses.

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions that encourage patients to process their trauma and develop effective coping strategies.

• Work closely with team members to provide integrated care, collaborating on various cases and sharing insights during regular case consultations.

• Provide crisis intervention as required, offering immediate support during trauma-related emergencies to ensure patient safety and stability.

• Educate clients and their families on trauma responses and available coping mechanisms, empowering them with knowledge for better mental health outcomes.

• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation consistent with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems effectively.

• Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in the realm of trauma therapy to continually enhance the care provided.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The therapist will directly engage with individuals who have faced various forms of trauma, including but not limited to PTSD, complex trauma, and situational stressors. Our clients often seek help for issues arising from adverse childhood experiences, recent traumatic events, or chronic stressors affecting their mental health and overall well-being. By employing trauma-informed care principles, our therapists help clients navigate their recovery and build resilience over time.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Illinois.

• Strong foundation of knowledge relating to trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment approaches.

• Current experience and comfort in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills that demonstrate a compassionate, non-judgmental approach.

• Ability to manage stress effectively and maintain composure in high-pressure scenarios.

• Proficient in the use of electronic health record systems and applicable technology.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is preferred.

• Experience working in outpatient settings with a focus on trauma recovery.

Compensation and Benefits\n
