In this full-time remote position based in Edison, New Jersey, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized mental health care to individuals who have experienced trauma. Work Environment\n

As a remote position, our work environment combines the flexibility of virtual care with the collaborative spirit of an outpatient office setting. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that prioritizes trauma-informed practices, ensuring that each patient receives comprehensive care tailored to their unique circumstances. While the primary work schedule is Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, some flexibility may be required to accommodate patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Conducting thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma histories and effectively identify suitable treatment methodologies.

• Designing and implementing individualized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, fostering resilience, and meeting client-specific goals.

• Providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing.

• Leading individual and group therapy sessions that empower patients to process trauma experiences, develop coping mechanisms, and build emotional strength.

• Collaborating closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care and integrated treatment strategies.

• Offering crisis intervention and immediate support during trauma-related emergencies or challenging sessions.
\n
• Educating patients and their families about trauma responses, available coping strategies, and community resources to further enhance their support systems.

• Maintaining meticulous and confidential documentation aligned with legal, ethical, and organizational standards to support patient care continuity.

• Participating in regular case consultations, team meetings, and professional development workshops focusing on trauma-informed care best practices.

• Staying current with the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to continually improve patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on individuals affected by substantial trauma, including but not limited to those experiencing PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Engaging with this population necessitates a deep commitment to understanding their unique experiences and challenges while utilizing trauma-informed methodologies to ensure a safe therapeutic relationship.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of New Jersey.
\n
• A minimum of 2 years of experience post-licensure is preferred, demonstrating your capability to manage complex trauma cases effectively.

• Strong knowledge base of trauma-related disorders along with evidence-based trauma-informed treatment approaches.
\n
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, characterized by a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to patient care.

• Proficiency in the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems and related technological tools essential for maintaining patient documentation.

• Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment, contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team.
