Family Wise Counseling, LLC is looking for a dedicated and licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team in providing trauma-informed mental health care. As a critical member of our outpatient community health clinic, you will have the opportunity to work closely with individuals who have faced various forms of trauma, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. This full-time remote position allows you to make a profound impact on the lives of our patients while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Work Environment\n

This position is entirely remote, allowing you the flexibility to manage your time effectively while ensuring that all patient needs are met. You will work a standard schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required as patient needs may dictate altered hours. As part of a supportive and collaborative team, you will engage in weekly case consultations and team meetings to discuss strategies and share insights focused on trauma recovery.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments, incorporating evidence-based tools, to evaluate each patient’s history and current mental health status.

• Develop and implement detailed, personalized treatment plans that are focused on trauma recovery, resilience-building, and ongoing support.
\n
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions utilizing methodologies such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
\n
• Provide crisis intervention and immediate support to patients experiencing trauma-related emergencies.
\n
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure an integrative course of care for each patient, coordinating treatment and addressing complex mental health needs.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations as well as ethical standards, using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
\n
• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses, coping strategies, and available community resources to promote understanding and engagement in their treatment process.
\n
• Engage actively in continuous professional development, staying updated on the latest research, best practices, and advancements in trauma therapy.
\n
• Participate in team discussions and case reviews to share experiences and enhance collaborative efforts.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with adult and adolescent patients who are survivors of trauma, specializing in those affected by PTSD, complex trauma, and other trauma-related disorders. This role requires sensitivity and an understanding of the unique challenges faced by trauma survivors, fostering an environment conducive to healing. Your expertise will help guide patients through their journeys to recovery and empower them to establish healthier coping mechanisms.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Valid and current licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in New Jersey.

• A strong foundation in trauma-informed practices, with demonstrated experience in trauma-specific interventions and therapy modalities.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, emphasizing a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to patient care.

• Proficient in electronic health record systems and standard computer applications, facilitating the efficient documentation and management of patient information.
\n
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals, sharing perspectives and strategies for improved patient outcomes.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting focusing on trauma-informed care.

• Proven experience using evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored for trauma treatment.

• Experience working in community health settings is highly desirable.
