Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our Rehabilitation Center in The Villages, allowing for face-to-face interaction with patients and colleagues. This role requires adaptability to a varied patient schedule that may include some weekend hours in addition to the standard work week, providing flexibility in meeting patient care needs.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive examinations and evaluations of patients to identify functional limitations and develop tailored treatment plans.
• Consulting with healthcare providers to facilitate a seamless continuum of care for each patient, ensuring all aspects of their health are addressed.
• Delivering high-quality patient interactions, demonstrating cultural competency and adhering to the highest customer service standards.
• Administering evaluations while interpreting findings to implement effective treatment and discharge plans that promote patient independence.
• Maintaining accurate documentation and records of treatments, including financial charges, in compliance with all legal and professional standards.
• Working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary treatment team, ensuring timely communication with other health professionals involved in patient care.
• Participating in community outreach initiatives and continuous quality improvement (CQI) projects to enhance clinic services.
• Engaging in professional development through staff meetings, self-study, and ongoing educational programs to stay current in best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on orthopedic patients within our rehabilitation center. This diverse patient population may include individuals recovering from surgeries such as joint replacements, rehabilitation after sports injuries, and treatment protocols for chronic pain. Interaction with patients of all ages will require a patient-centered approach, ensuring tailored treatment plans that consider individual goals, backgrounds, and recovery journeys.

Qualifications

The following qualifications are essential for success in this role:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• A valid State License in Physical Therapy, with BLS certification required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as proficiency in using word processing and other computer applications.
• A proven ability to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily, demonstrating clinical competence and understanding.

Preferred Experience

While the minimum requirement is a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, experience in an orthopedic setting is highly desirable. Familiarity with current rehab technologies and methodologies, as well as previous work with an interdisciplinary care team, will be viewed favorably.

Compensation and Benefits
