The Carmelite Behavioral Health Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team as a full-time provider of trauma-informed care. Work Environment\n

As a remote community health clinic, our organization embraces a flexible work environment that prioritizes your ability to meet the needs of your patients while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. The work schedule typically runs from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, although some flexibility may be required based on patients' sessions and the clinic's operational demands. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial and ongoing trauma-informed assessments to accurately evaluate patients’ mental health status and inform individualized treatment plans.
\n
• Develop, implement, and monitor customized treatment strategies focused on trauma recovery, including but not limited to therapeutic techniques like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
\n
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, allowing patients to process their trauma, develop effective coping mechanisms, and promote healing within a supportive environment.
\n
• Collaborate with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to provide integrated, holistic care tailored to each patient’s needs.
\n
• Deliver crisis intervention services during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring patients receive immediate support.
\n
• Provide education and resources to patients and their families regarding trauma responses and community resources available to them.
\n
• Maintain meticulous, confidential patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently.

• Participate in regular case consultations and collaborative team meetings to refine therapeutic approaches and share best practices in trauma-informed care.

• Stay abreast of contemporary research, methodologies, and advancements in the field of trauma therapy to continually enhance the quality of care provided.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of your practice will be working with individuals impacted by trauma, including those experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. You will have the privilege of creating meaningful therapeutic relationships that empower patients to navigate their emotional challenges and reclaim their lives.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctorate degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Arizona.
\n
• A strong foundational knowledge of trauma-related disorders and treatment modalities, alongside a commitment to trauma-informed care principles.
\n
• Excellent interpersonal skills characterized by empathy, active listening, and a non-judgmental approach in patient interactions.
\n
• Ability to remain composed in high-stress situations, demonstrating professionalism amidst emotional challenges.

• Proficiency in managing electronic health records and willingness to adapt to new technologies.
\n
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting, demonstrating collaboration and teamwork.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a mental health counseling role with a focus on trauma treatment is preferred.

• Demonstrated experience delivering trauma-focused therapeutic interventions and engaging with diverse patient populations.

Compensation and Benefits\n
