Work Environment

The position will be entirely onsite, allowing for direct interaction with patients, physicians, and healthcare teams. Our hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., providing a consistent schedule while allowing time for work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant (PA-C) in Urology, your responsibilities will include:

• Performing comprehensive patient assessments that involve detailed history-taking, physical examinations, and ordering relevant laboratory tests.
• Prescribing medications and treatments in accordance with provider-Physician institutional agreements and regulatory guidelines.
• Conducting follow-up care for patients, including telephone triage and patient education regarding procedures, medications, and test results.
• Serving as a mentor for healthcare professionals, providing guidance, and sharing clinical knowledge with nurses, residents, and students.
• Assisting in the coordination and management of clinical trials related to prostate biopsy techniques, engaging in recruitment, consent, and data management for enrolled subjects.
• Documenting health assessment data meticulously to ensure continuity and quality of care for our patients.
• Participating actively in outpatient clinics, where you will manage patient schedules and streamline treatment processes.
• Proactively engaging with the urology team and other specialists to ensure seamless communication and case management.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The urology department caters to a diverse patient population, ranging from those requiring routine screenings to complex cases involving urologic cancers and surgical interventions. Your role will be crucial in overseeing the care of individuals who may be facing sensitive health issues, requiring empathy, understanding, and professionalism at all times.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a certified Physician Assistant program.
• Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the State of Texas, with a commitment to maintaining certification throughout employment.
• Current CPR certification is a must.

Preferred Experience

Although a minimum of one year of experience as a PA is required, prior experience in a urology setting or an academic medical center is preferred. Familiarity with clinical trials and patient management is highly advantageous, as well as experience in providing education and mentorship to other healthcare professionals.

Compensation and Benefits

Grand Medical Center offers a competitive annual salary in the range of USD 140,000 – 180,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
