Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist at Heartlight Counseling Center, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough assessments to evaluate the severity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms presented by clients.

• Collaborating closely with clients to develop individualized treatment plans that are tailored to their specific mental health needs and personal goals.

• Implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to promote effective coping strategies and emotional regulation.

• Providing educational resources and support to clients and their families regarding mood disorders, treatment modalities, and self-care techniques.
\n
• Monitoring client progress throughout the treatment process, ensuring that treatment plans are adjusted as needed to enhance outcomes.

• Collaborating with psychiatrists and other medical professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each client’s mental health care.
\n
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of emerging research and therapeutic practices in the field of mood disorders.

• Documenting all client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes while adhering to confidentiality standards and ethical guidelines.

• Participating in regular case consultations, team meetings, and professional development opportunities to further enhance clinical skills and share best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily involve supporting adults who are dealing with mood disorders and may also extend to adolescents and families as needed. Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in California.

• A Master’s degree in Marriage Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field, along with relevant certification.
\n
• A solid foundation in mental health principles, particularly in addressing learning disabilities, behavioral issues, and social-emotional disorders.
\n
• An understanding of California laws and ethical guidelines pertaining to mental health practice.
\n
• Ability to pass a current background check through the FBI and DOJ.
\n
• A current TB Test conducted within the last six months.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

While three years of clinical experience is required, candidates with additional experience in addiction treatment or working with mood disorder populations are highly desirable. Exposure to telehealth practices will also be beneficial, given the remote nature of this role.
