Tryon Stewardship Thursdays (age 13+) Referral Friends of Tryon Creek is a community-supported nonprofit started in 1970 by a group of dedicated park neighbors to preserve Tryon Canyon. Our mission in partnership with Oregon State Parks is to inspire every community to identify, cultivate or reclaim their relationship with nature in this cherished urban forest. Join Oregon State Park Rangers to improve forest health by managing noxious weeds and maintaining trails. Volunteer activities include hiking and the use of hand tools. Instruction, gloves and tools provided (feel free to bring your own gloves). This event\'s current meeting location is the southernmost Boones Ferry parking lot and trailhead along SW Boones Ferry Rd. There are two parking lots on SW Boones Ferry; the northern one near Arnold St. that holds only two vehicles and the southern one near Tryon Life Community Farm that holds 10 or more vehicles. We will meet at the larger, southernmost lot. Volunteers must be 13years of age or older to participate in this opportunity; any volunteer under age 18 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.
