Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health and substance use issues, ensuring accurate identification and understanding of co-occurring disorders.

• Develop personalized, evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with your clients, addressing their unique mental health and substance use needs.

• Provide individual and group therapy sessions that equip clients with vital coping skills, relapse prevention strategies, and techniques for emotional regulation.

• Engage closely with our interdisciplinary team, which includes psychiatrists, nurses, and addiction specialists, to deliver holistic care and seamless treatment.

• Implement regular substance use monitoring, utilizing motivational interviewing techniques to encourage client commitment on their recovery journey.

• Educate clients and their families on the relationship between mental health and substance use disorders, promoting understanding and encouraging compliance with treatment.

• Maintain meticulous and timely documentation of treatment progress, interventions, and referrals in compliance with ethical and legal standards.

• Participate actively in case conferences, training sessions, and staff meetings to enhance your clinical skills and knowledge in co-occurring disorder treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary client focus will include individuals grappling with both mental illness and substance use disorders, emphasizing the need for a cohesive treatment approach. The diverse patient population often includes adults from various backgrounds, requiring sensitivity, understanding, and professionalism in managing unique case histories and individual challenges.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW-C, LCPC, LMFT, or LCMFT within the state of Maryland.

• Competence in implementing evidence-based practices specific to co-occurring disorders, including Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

• A strong understanding of the interaction between mental health disorders and substance use challenges, enabling tailored client approaches.
\n
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of relevant experience in the field of mental health counseling, specifically dealing with co-occurring disorders.

• Familiarity with outpatient service delivery models and remote therapy settings is highly desirable.
