Work Environment\n

This role is conducted remotely, which allows for flexibility while maintaining a strong commitment to our clients. Working within a school facility, you'll be positioned to address the unique challenges faced by students dealing with mental health and substance use issues. You will collaborate closely with educators and school staff, fostering a collaborative approach to ensure students receive holistic care.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct in-depth assessments to identify the counseling needs of students, employing appropriate DSM criteria for substance abuse diagnosis.

• Analyze and determine the necessary level of care for students utilizing ASAM criteria to provide tailored treatment plans.
\n
• Develop and implement the substance abuse counseling components of individual treatment plans tailored to each student's needs.
\n
• Formulate comprehensive discharge and continuum of care plans to facilitate smooth transitions to subsequent care levels for students.
\n
• Document all counseling services rendered, including assessments, education sessions, and follow-up activities, maintaining accurate clinical records.
\n
• Manage an assigned client caseload, ensuring consistent case management and timely updates for effective treatment planning.
\n
• Coordinate essential support services for clients and families, keeping detailed records of services provided.
\n
• Engage in communication and collaboration with referral sources, including schools, legal representatives, and community resources.
\n
• Facilitate interventions for crisis-oriented issues by leveraging a multidisciplinary team approach to address immediate client needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with school-aged children and adolescents, addressing issues related to mental health and substance use disorders. Your expertise will be critical in not only guiding students through their challenges but also actively working with their families and educational staff to create a continuous support network that encourages long-term recovery and wellbeing.

Qualifications\n

• Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Colorado is required.

• A bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) or related field; a master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) is preferred.

• Strong professional ethics, with excellent therapeutic boundaries and cultural competency.

• Self-motivated and organized, with demonstrated proficiency in time management and case documentation.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in working with children and adolescents in a school or therapeutic setting, particularly in conjunction with substance use issues.

• Familiarity with the ASAM criteria, DSM criteria, and treatment planning methodologies.

• Previous involvement in multi-disciplinary teams and crisis intervention strategies.
